To become a Certified Close Protection Agent you need to undergo real-life training in one of our physical academies. The same applies to full certification requiring full practical training in any specific area.
However, many professionals who are already involved or certified in one of the areas we cover at IAPPA may legitimately seek after further qualification, don't have the time or the means to undertake travel and residence periods to expand their knowledge.
For those areas, we have developed the IAPPA - Online Academy to offer members and ambitious professionals the opportunity to widen or deepen their knowledge in courses developed and curated by recognized IAPPA collaborators with years of experience.
All courses focus on elements that can be learned and rehearsed online. Developed by professionals with years of practical experience on the field, your training will be laser-focused on what matters in real life and you will never look at the things the same way after that...

United International Security Associations
Due to his manifold career experience and a life dedicated to security, Security Expert and Certified Close Protection Agent® Oliver Becker became in 1998 a member of the International Association of Personal Protection Agents (1989) and had a central role in the founding of both the International Security & Self Defense Association (2003) and the World Security Patrol Association (2012).
Looking ahead, Becker recognized early on that uniting the efforts and resources of those three associations would provide great benefits for professionals and start a new chapter in the history of the security industry. Today, Oliver Becker is President of the three Associations and CEO of the United International Security Associations.
